Camera Cases
Camera Cases
Many would consider camera cases different than camera bags. With modern technology and usage many companies are working to make the perfect hybrid of protection and portability. A camera case could be considered by some to be a traditional hard shell, bulky case that is not easy to carry around to different places. A camera bag could be viewed as a soft case that allows the user to bring their camera anywhere but does not offer the same protection to the equipment as a case. With new developments in foam technology many ‘soft’ camera bags or cases now give great protection to the equipment. The best way for a consumer to get the most out of their money is to see the product and judge its safety and ease of use for themselves. Much like other products a camera case will come down to personal choice. Aesthetics can be the largest contributor to a consumers decision and companies offer many different looks and designs. Tamrac and Lowepro offer many great choices and should be considered for a demanding photographer. There are even some cases offered that claim to be for underwater used. A consumer should be wary of such claims and look for studies testing such products. This is set off by the fact that some companies now produce cameras that are built to be used underwater. The user should know the depth their camera can be submerged in the water and not take it deeper than necessary. Some new cameras will take great quality photos even underwater.
Sony Camera Cases
Sony’s camera cases offer protection and portability for their products. Since Sony’s line of cameras are more slim-line their cases are soft and small. It is important to be aware that dropping a camera, even in one of these cases, will cause damage. Some cameras are now shock resistant so small falls will not do damage to them, but do not trust this to save a device. All electronic equipment can be damaged from a fall.
Nikon Camera Cases
Nikon also offers cases for their products but as with Sony many are soft cases. They are also made to fit the Nikon equipment. This line of cases will not offer the same protection as those of Lowepro or Tamrac. They don’t have the foam lining and extensive testing for the rugged use that some photographers desire. A specialty case manufacturer will have tested and studied their products more than the actual camera company. Some companies will even offer guarantees that their products will work properly.
