It does not mean that there is no difference in quality. The difference between standard printers and inkjet photo printers is the print head is specialized to print lots of color onto specialized paper and is faster in printing speed. A dedicated photo printer also has more features than a regular printer. In the end if choose an HP photo printer, an Canon photo printer or an Epson photo does not especially make a difference, as long as you choose a photo and not a regular printer you will get one of the best photo printers on the market.
