Storage racks come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Most are just thin, tall racks with many cubby holes to store your videos. These can range from simple to elegant-looking. There are also wide, short racks that go along someplace in your floor. These could be put in front of your entertainment center or in a storage room, if you’ve got one. Before buying one of these, you should make sure you’ve got someplace to put it. These take up quite a bit of room, but not as much room as videos lying all over your house! If you really wanted to, you could probably get one custom-made, or if you like designing new things, you and some friends could build your own. The prices of these racks normally range from around $20 to $50. They’ll be worth your money if you’ve got lots of videos, and very little room. Then again, it would probably be cheaper to build your own, though it could become rather time-consuming.

Video Storage Cabinets

Another type of storage for videos could be a cabinet. These cabinets are somewhat small and compact, and don’t take up much room. Consequently, they don’t store that many videos. These cabinets have got pullout drawers with covers, so they’re very convenient. These cabinets can organize your videos and make it easier to pick out the one you want to watch. Some of these cabinets even come with little slots for each individual video. This can be very convenient, because when you pull out one cassette, you don’t have to worry about all the other ones toppling over in its place. You can even purchase these cabinets with locks on them, but if only storing videos, these locks are fairly unnecessary. These cabinets usually cost about $50 to $150, depending on size and elegance.

CD and Video Storage

There are racks and cabinets for storing many things at a time, such as CDs, audiocassettes, and videocassettes. These are normally tall, thin racks with five or six rows. These are very convenient if you want to keep all your entertainment devices in one place. There are also different types of racks and cabinets available. They’re not hard to make, either; you could make your own if you’re a little pressed for money, but make sure first that you have the tools and time to do it. Also, if you don’t have lots of money or time, you could search around at yard and garage sales for these. They’ve usually got them for around $10 to $20. You could also find them out on the street for garbage men to pick up and they’re normally in good condition. Take it home and clean it up a bit, and you’ve got a free storage rack, good as new!
